The Cartagena Film Festival has named Isabella Rossellini as their guest of honor and will be screening a number of the actress’ films, including Animals Distract Me! You can also see Animals Distract Me at FIFE (the International Environmental Film Festival) in Paris, France. The film screens February 8th at 12:15 PM and February 9th at 12:30 PM. Animals Distract Me, which premiered at Sundance Film Festival, follows actress Isabella Rossellini as she and her future guide dog Sweety visit Manhattan for the day. But even during a conversation with Vogue editor André Leon Talley and lunch with chef Mario Batali, she finds herself distracted … by the animals around her.

Whether it’s the demodex on her eyelashes, the crickets in Central Park, or her own dog, she is full of questions. Fortunately, she is visited by Charles Darwin, who explains to Isabella his theory of evolution and the behaviors of the animals that fascinate her.

Part auto-biography, part historical re-enactment, and part fantastic imagining, Animals Distract Me is about discovering the joys in nature and asking the deeper questions, the ones that don’t always have an answer.

“Pearl Jam: Ten Revisited,” a VH1 Classic special, is a 30-minute look back at the band’s debut studio album “Ten” and its place in rock history. The show includes original videos, the television debut of the uncensored “Jeremy” video, never-before-seen stills from the studio, and archival interview footage of the band. It was aired on VH1 and MTV in conjunction with the release of the newly remastered and remixed version of the album.

In this season, Rossellini takes a look at the seduction techniques of spiders, dolphins, and more — questioning how Noah could possibly have selected just one male and one female of every species in order to repopulate the Earth after the flood. A look at juvenile diabetes in a developing country, Life for a Child profiles three families: their struggle to survive, the sacrifices they must make for a child with diabetes, and the strength, courage, and humility they demonstrate along the way.

Life for a Child premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, and won the award for Best Short Documentary at the 2009 Cinequest Film Festival. It was also given a special screening as part of the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma, as well as the KunstFilmBiennale in Cologne. Seven episodes of Isabella Rossellini’s ‘Green Porno’ series will be showing at the Natural History Museum (UK) as part of a major exhibition at the museum called “Sexual Nature”. The series offers a humorous but scientifically accurate look at the mating habits of insects, fish, and more.
